New goals and posting schedule
Hello warrior poets. Now that my family has grown accustomed to the new “normal”, it is my goal to get my blogging and writing back into a more serious routine. I’ll be reporting on my progress monthly.
Blogging Goals
I’m going to try a schedule; it’s something I’ve never tried on my blog before, but I think it’s an appropriate time to see how it works for me. I’m keeping things small for the time being.
Monday Posts: It’s my goal to post every Monday. Usually these will be essays. Occasionally they may be status updates, news about fellow writers or martial artists, and other things engaging.
Wednesday Challenge: I’ll be posting a mental challenge every week. Mostly, these will be aimed at the writerly minds.
Friday Links: I’ll be posting the best reading I’ve crossed on the web. My RSS reader and I get around, so expect to see some choice websurf.
Writing Goals
I’ll be posting writing goals monthly on the site and talking about my progress for the month. Cut off from my support group as I am, I need some way to stay accountable and productive. Tag; you’re it!
Finish Into Last Shadows by August
This is a new short I’m working on as part of my goal to really explore tension and conflict. I’ve never been good at hooking readers early and building the tension (that’s right, before my great midpoints that kick everyone in the pants and send them straight to hell in a handbasket).
Shop Into the Mist to 10 Publications
(What’s with all the “Into…” titles?) This is one of my most successful shorts. I’ve decided The Paris Review is never going to send me a rejection, so I’m moving on with hopes of getting rejected elsewhere.
Blog It!
That’s right, my blogging goals are also one of my writing goals, for this month, at least.
What Are You Up To?
One of the greatest motivations we can offer others is to espouse our own hopes and dreams; nothing lights a fire under the feet like seeing someone else dance.
So what are you up to for the month? Post it on your blog and drop a link in the comments!
