  A stranger comes to Dun Hilven, which hasn’t seen an outsider in 30 years because of the deadly creatures in the surrounding swamp, but he is arrested by the oddly paranoid inhabitants instead of welcomed.
• Into the Mist
  short fiction (8k), querying widely
  Santos, recruited as a child into a Columbian liberation group, kidnaps tourists for ransom money and waits for the day he can escape to a better life. However, when his adopted father, Luces, decides to put his loyalty to the test over a woman prisoner, Santos must decide between his humanity and the only family he’s ever known.

• Brass Bells for the Dead
  apocalyptic fiction (80k)
  Marteen is a drifter, surviving by staying out of the picture. When he meets a caravan of people traveling to New Canada, he has to make a choice: watch them die and survive alone, or join humanity again and doom himself to their fate: certain death.
• Twinergy
  fiction (60k)
  Twin boys, fourteen years old, from Detroit are apprehended by the FBI for stealing credit card numbers from black market sites and selling them back to the hackers. They are acquitted by the courts but forced to settle with a white couple in Seattle–the only people who would take two criminals from the hood. Things get interesting when they discover that their new “white trash family” is loaded with millions and nobody knows where the money came from.
• This One Time
  episodic vignettes/slice-of-life non-fiction
  Experimental non-fiction based on interesting slices of my life, strung together as episodic and hopefully insightful moments rather than self-aggrandizing memoir.
  This has no real goal other than exploration at this point.
• Kats und Maus
  short fiction (4k)
  A German and American sniper vie for control of war-torn Aachen during WWII; they can’t manage to kill each other, so they leave each other letters as they play cat and mouse.

  novella (25k)
  Bethol is a land ruled by the assassin’s blade and Shilo is one of the best nightblades ever known. However, his world is turned upside down when a woman he saved from murder becomes his next mark.
• Under the White
  novella (20k)
  Earl and Thorn, survivors of a destroyed city, flee into a forest of legend and myth, which might prove more deadly than the enemy pursuing them.
• Brillica
  YA fantasy (60k)
  A teenage girl lives in a hand-built home with no electricity or plumbing. She’s not allowed out and her only escape is a dreamworld called Brillica. But she’s no longer sure it’s only a dream.
• Nightshroud
  Fantasy (100k)
  Kara holds herself responsible for the brothers killed in a past mission and tries to escape their memories by searching for the mystical Elle. However, she discovers that she can’t escape her past when her companions are embroiled in another war that threatens not only their lives but an entire nation.
• Lament
  Fantasy (80k)
  Din wants only to tell stories of heroes and adventure, but finds himself caught up in one when a group of adventurers decide that his knowledge of other lands and cultures may be the cure to a new enemy.
